Wow, what a month July has been! It’s honestly flown by in a whirlwind of yarn, colour, creativity, and exciting projects. From new yarn releases to the end of a beautiful CAL, this month has been absolutely packed. I’ve loved every second of it and am so excited to share all the lovely things that have happened.

🧶 Serene Aran Release – Stylecraft

This month kicked off with the release of Stylecraft’s brand new Serene Aran yarn, and it’s been a real treat to get my hands on it early! The yarn is beautifully soft, works up like a dream, and comes in a gentle, calming palette that truly lives up to its name. I’ve started a little hexagon project with it—still very much a work in progress—but it’s already shaping up to be something special. I’m enjoying experimenting with the colours and textures, and I can’t wait to show you more as it grows. You can read all about the yarn here.

🌸 Petal Patchwork CAL – Cygnet Yarns

We also reached the end of the Petal Patchwork crochet-along with the lovely folks at Cygnet Yarns. What an incredible experience it’s been! I’ve absolutely loved seeing everyone’s unique takes on the blanket—the colours, the creativity, the community spirit—it’s all been so inspiring. A huge thank you to Cygnet Yarns for inviting me to be part of this journey. Your support and enthusiasm have made this project truly special, and I’ve cherished every minute of it. You can still make your very own Petal Patchwork blanket by downloading the free pattern direct from Cygnet Yarns Ltd.

🌼 A Spot of Spring – Pattern Re-release

Another exciting moment this month was the re-release of my A Spot of Spring blanket pattern, which originally appeared in Inside Crochet magazine. This cheerful, floral-inspired design is now available as a stand-alone pattern, with yarn packs available from Wool Warehouse here to make things super easy. It’s been lovely to see people rediscover this pattern and start new versions of it—it’s one of those happy makes that really brings a sense of sunshine and new beginnings. You can find the pattern here – Etsy, Ravelry, Wool Warehouse and Lovecrafts.

💖Hugs and Hearts – Baby Version Launched

I’m over the moon to have released the baby version of my Hugs and Hearts blanket this month! This has been a much-requested pattern, and it’s such a joy to finally share it with you all. It’s a perfect companion to the adult version—ideal for a new baby gift, a toddler snuggle blanket, or even to make your own “Mummy and Mini Me” matching set. The design is full of love and warmth, and I’ve had so many kind messages from people already starting their own. Both patterns are available from – Etsy, Ravelry, Wool Warehouse and Lovecrafts, so you can jump straight in!

🎨 Stylecraft Special Aran – Secret Colour Fun

One of the behind-the-scenes highlights this month was having the chance to work with the entire colour palette of Stylecraft’s Special Aran range. Let me tell you—it’s like opening a treasure chest of colour! I’ve been having so much fun mixing and matching shades, creating mood boards, and planning something very exciting. It’s still top secret for now (sorry!) but I promise it’s going to be worth the wait. I feel so lucky to be involved in this and can’t wait to share more when the time is right.

🌼 Summer Meadow – Yarnsmiths New Release

Yarnsmiths also launched a gorgeous new range this month: Summer Meadow. The colours are fresh, bright, and completely perfect for this time of year. Think sunny skies, blooming flowers, and soft meadows—you can almost smell the wildflowers! The lovely team at Wool Warehouse very kindly sent me one ball of each colour, and as soon as they arrived, I had a little play and started something new. I’m keeping it under wraps for now, but I couldn’t resist giving you a sneak peek—so keep your eyes peeled for more updates soon. You can check the yarn our here.

🌴 Holiday Blanket Adventures

And last but definitely not least—I managed to sneak away for a holiday this month! Of course, I couldn’t go away without packing a project, so I started my holiday blanket, a relaxing and colourful make that I am going to be gifting my sister as she unfortunately can’t come with us. There’s something really special about working on a blanket while away—whether it’s crocheting by the pool or hooking a few squares in the evening sun. I’ll be writing a full blog post about it soon, with all the details and photos, so stay tuned! But for now here is the first square I made, it matches the holiday house front door perfectly!

Thank you so much for following along with all my creative adventures. July has been an incredible month, full of inspiration, growth, and lovely yarny moments. I’m so grateful for your continued support—it means the world. I can’t wait to see what August brings!

Much love,
Helen x
