What a year it’s been!
As December draws to a close, I’ve been looking back over my very first year blogging on my new website! A whole year of making, designing, stitching, sharing, and connecting with this incredibly kind and creative community.
Thank you for being here, whether you joined me in January or only discovered my little yarny corner recently. Every message, comment, purchase, and photo you’ve shared has truly meant the world to me. So let’s take a cosy moment to reflect on the year…
🌸 A Year of Designs & Releases
One of the biggest highlights this year was releasing A Year in Flowers, along with the Log Book. The response has been overwhelming in the best possible way.
Your excitement, colour planning, and beautiful flower squares have made this project feel magical before we’ve even begun the full blanket in January!
🧺 Blanket Love
Throughout the year I released several blanket designs that now feel like long-time favourites:
- Spots & Stripes Blanket – my first ever blanket design
- Hugs & Stars Blanket – now available in English and German
- Groovy Baby Blanket – revealed and released this autumn
- Plus so many stunning colourways, yarn packs, and YOUR incredible versions
Watching your blankets grow has been one of the most heartwarming parts of my year.
🧣 The Year of Scarves
This truly became the year of the scarf!
The Magic Moss Stitch Scarf became a community favourite! Especially once the DK versions took off. From Yarnsmiths Pebble Haze Prints to hand-dyed colourways, every version has been such a joy to see.
Two patterns, endless yarn choices, and so much cosy texture.
We also enjoyed the beautiful Chevron Scarf from Apple Blossom Dreams! The perfect mind-soothing autumn make.
🧦 Socks, Cowls & New Adventures
This year brought lots of firsts too:
- My first ever crochet socks, made for @annanikipirowicz’s Crochet Socks That Rock book tour
- Finally knitting my Litmus Cowl after saving the kit for over a year
- Knitting “in the wild” beside a waterfall with my new yarn spinner
- A lovely mix of knitting and crochet moments that reminded me why I adore fibre crafts so much
🧶 Events, Meet-Ups & Yarny Memories
One of the standout highlights was Yarndale! Meeting so many of you, chatting, sharing stories, and enjoying a meal with 26 wonderful makers.
It was unforgettable, and I’m already dreaming about next year 🙂
There were also beautiful days out at the Knitting & Stitching Show in Harrogate, and lots of everyday yarny magic shared across Instagram!
💖 A Year of Growth
This year marked:
✨ My first full year blogging on my new website
✨ Buying Apple Blossom Dreams (Wow, still pinch myself about this)
✨ Building a warm, creative online home
✨ Releasing patterns I’ve dreamed of
✨ Connecting with makers across the world
I’m so proud of how this space has grown, and so grateful for each of you. And not forgetting my amazing HOLIDAY BLANKET I made back in the summer!!
🌟 And One Last Highlight…
Before I wrap up the year completely, I have to mention a moment that truly meant the world to me:
hosting the A Spot of Spring CAL with Wool Warehouse.
It was a real pinch-me experience — one I still can’t quite believe happened, and easily one of the most joyful highlights of my entire year. 💛🌼
🌟 Looking Ahead to 2026
December has been full of planning and dreaming about what’s coming next.
✨ Weekly free patterns will continue in January – I’ve absolutely loved creating them for you, and I’m so excited to keep this tradition going!
✨ Something special is also coming in January… but my lips are sealed for now! 🤫✨
I can’t wait to share it all with you.
❤️ Thank You
