May has been a bit of a mixed month — lots of crochet, exciting sneak peeks, time at the caravan, and some really lovely family moments too 💛

Here’s a little look at what I’ve been up to this month…

🧶 Sneak Peek…

I shared a little sneak peek this month of a brand new pattern coming later this year in Crochet Now magazine 👀✨

This design will be featured in the July issue, and I’ve been using the gorgeous Yarnsmiths Pebble Haze yarn in the colourways Llanbedrog Prints and Marble to make these pretty squares 🌸

I absolutely love how soft and delicate these colours look together, and I can’t wait to share more with you soon!

🌈 Granny’s on the Vino – Back on My Hook

After nearly a year, I finally picked this project back up again… and I’m so glad I did 🥰

This is my Granny’s on the Vino blanket, made using a beautiful Union Jack mega yarn cake that was gifted to me by Puff Flower Crochet last May 🧶✨

I’d forgotten just how much I loved these stitches and colours together, and it’s been really lovely falling back into the rhythm of this one again.

Sometimes it’s nice having a project with no deadline or pressure attached to it — just something relaxing to pick up for a few rows and enjoy 💛

🧶 Favourite Crochet Tools

This month I also shared one of my favourite crochet tools! My pretty 7mm crochet hook from Pedro’s Plaques 💛

Karen’s hooks are honestly so lovely to work with, and over the years I’ve built up quite the collection now! I love having different hooks for different projects, and they always make crocheting feel that little bit more special 🧶✨

📱 A Little Instagram Frustration…

I also had a bit of a wobble this month about Instagram and how difficult it feels at the moment 😔

It’s been frustrating feeling like posts aren’t reaching the people who actually follow along, while feeds seem full of ads and suggested content instead. And after chatting with so many of you, it definitely seems like a lot of us are feeling exactly the same way.

It can feel a bit disheartening when you put so much love into creating and sharing things, but I’m really grateful for everyone who still likes, comments, shares and supports my little corner of Instagram 💛

🧶 Cygnet Yarns Designs

This month I also shared a blog post all about the crochet blanket designs I’ve created over the years for Cygnet Yarns

It was really lovely looking back through them all, from the colourful Day at the Beach Blanket, to the pastel Rainbow Dreams Blanket, and of course the Petal Patchwork CAL that so many of you joined in with 🌸🧶

Working with Cygnet over the years has been such a joy, and I still love seeing your versions of these designs pop up online 💛

🎁 Thread & Maple Giveaway

I also hosted a lovely giveaway this month with Thread & Maple 💛

Their products are honestly so beautifully made and perfect for keeping crochet projects organised. The basket and hook holder are not only practical but look so lovely sat next to a project too 🧶✨

I’ve especially loved using them while working on my bigger blankets and ongoing projects recently.

Thank you so much to everyone who entered the giveaway!

🩵 Poppy’s Baby Blanket

I’m still slowly working away on Poppy’s Baby Blanket using the gorgeous Hobbii Universe yarn 🌈✨

All of my granny circles are now finally squared off and I’m onto the joining stage, which is actually my favourite part 🥰

This has become one of those projects I just pick up now and then when I want a few calm, relaxing stitches with no pressure or deadlines attached to it 💛

This blanket will always mean so much to me, and I’ve really been enjoying watching all the colours come together again stitch by stitch ❤️🩵

👶 A Very Special Arrival

This month my best friend welcomed her second baby into the world, a gorgeous little baby boy 💙

He is already so, so loved, and of course Auntie Helen made sure to get lots of cuddles 🥹

Such a lovely and special time 💛

🌞 Life Lately

We ended May with a lovely half term at the caravan, and Katie came to stay with us for a few nights too 🫶

It was just really nice having the four of us together again, and wow… we definitely picked the right week for it! The weather was absolutely gorgeous ☀️

Lots of sunshine, slower days, fresh air and time together, sometimes those are the very best kinds of days 💛

✨ Looking Ahead

May has been full of crochet, colour, family time and exciting projects behind the scenes 🧶🌸

I’m really looking forward to seeing what June brings… and sharing more of that Crochet Now design very soon 👀✨

Thank you so much for being here, for your support, your messages and your kindness, it truly means the world 💛

Helen 💛
