A Month of Growth, Challenges, and New Beginnings

As January wraps up (literally with this cold weather!), I’ve been reflecting on all the ups and downs of the month, it’s been an eventful one in the world of crochet and in my personal life too! From commissions that didn’t quite go as planned to exciting new collaborations and big plans for the future, it’s been a rollercoaster, but there’s so much to look forward to this year. Grab your yarn and your favourite hook, and let’s dive into my crochet adventures from January.

Commissions Gone Wrong: Lessons Learned

Not every crochet project is smooth sailing, and I’ve had my fair share of hiccups this month. Some commissions didn’t go exactly as planned, and honestly, it’s a bit of a learning curve. One project in particular really challenged me, and I ended up frogging hours and hours of work. But when you’re not feeling it, you’re not feeling it! For now, this project is sat in the naughty corner waiting for me to pick it up again. I do take pride in being so organised, but this project has just been one of those that I needed to put down, do something else and I will be picking it up again soon and creating a masterpiece! But hey, I have learnt that not all things go to plan and that is OK!!

Stylecraft Crochet Me Scarf: A Beautiful Collaboration

One of the highlights of January was a collaboration with Stylecraft, a fabulous brand that I’ve admired for a while. I loved creating the ‘Crochet Me’ custom scarf for their collection, and it was such an exciting project. This scarf is unique, not just in the way it looks, but also in how it makes me feel and the way the yarn colours work with the pattern, it’s like a match made in heaven! The pattern is available for free from Stylecraft.

A Sneak Peek at What’s Coming This Year

Looking ahead, I’m feeling incredibly excited about the year to come. There are so many exciting things on the horizon! I have so many plans to expand my crochet world, experiment with new yarns, and push myself creatively in ways I haven’t before. There are also some new collaborations in the works, and I’m thrilled to share them with you once I am allowed!! I don’t want to spoil too much just yet but trust me when I say there’s a lot to look forward to!! Here is a sneak peek on some colours chosen for a secret collaboration!

On a personal note, I’m hoping to grow my online crochet community this year, sharing more tutorials, tips, and behind-the-scenes glimpses of my process. It’s been amazing to connect with all of you, and I can’t wait to keep building that relationship as we move forward. If you’re interested in learning more about certain techniques or want to see specific types of crochet projects, let me know! I’m always open to new ideas.

Final Thoughts: Here’s to an Amazing Year Ahead

Overall, January was a month of growth, reflection, and learning. Even the bumps along the way have taught me things, and I’m so ready to embrace everything the rest of the year has to offer. There are so many exciting projects and opportunities on the horizon, and I’m grateful to have you all along for the ride.

Thank you for being a part of my crochet journey – whether you’re here for the commissions, the new creations, or just to chat about all things yarn, I appreciate each and every one of you. Here’s to a year filled with creativity, new adventures, and endless crochet possibilities. Let’s make 2025 the best year yet!

Happy crocheting! Helen x✨🧶
