July has been one of those months filled with sunshine, crochet and lots of exciting things happening behind the scenes! From finishing a special cardigan for Katie to new yarn launches, a magazine release and our family holiday, it’s certainly been a month to remember 💛

Here’s a little look at what I’ve been up to this month…

🩷 Katie’s Cardigan… Finished!

One of my biggest makes this month was finally completing Katie’s cardigan.

I started this project before we headed off on holiday and packed it in my suitcase so I could keep working on it while we were away. Thankfully, I finished it just in time for Katie to wear to the christening when we got home 🥹

The cardigan was made using the beautiful Stylecraft Naturals Bamboo + Cotton yarn, which has such a lovely drape and softness. It was something a little different for me, but I absolutely loved seeing it come together and even more seeing Katie wearing it.

Sometimes the best projects are the ones made especially for someone you love 💕

🧶 Golden Glow Bobble Blanket

This month also saw the release of my Golden Glow Bobble Blanket in Issue 133 of Crochet Now magazine

This blanket was made using the gorgeous Yarnsmiths Pebble Haze yarn and is full of beautiful texture created with simple bobble stitches and colourful crochet squares.

It was so exciting finally being able to share this design with you all after keeping it under wraps for so long. If you’ve picked up the magazine, I’d love to know what you think!

🌈 New Stylecraft Yarns!

July also brought some very exciting deliveries from Stylecraft… lots of new yarn! 😍

As part of the Stylecraft Ambassadors programme, I was lucky enough to receive some of the brand new ranges and colours before their official launch.

There are two completely new yarns:

🧶 Dream Cloud Chunky
🧶 Cloudlike Super Chunky

Alongside these, several existing favourites have been expanded with gorgeous new shades, including:

  • ReCreate
  • Colour Burst
  • Highland Heathers
  • Impressions

I couldn’t resist photographing them all in the garden while the sun was shining, and a few also made their way into a little hallway photoshoot too! There are some beautiful new colours, and I already have ideas for future projects.

🌴 Holiday Memories

We spent part of July enjoying a wonderful family holiday in Fuerteventura, and it was just what we all needed ☀️

We enjoyed some lovely walks, beautiful beaches, delicious food and plenty of sunshine. It was also really nice to slow down for a while and spend quality time together.

Of course, I couldn’t resist taking lots of photos, so I’ll be sharing a few of my favourites in this month’s blog.

Sometimes it’s important to step away from work for a little while, recharge and come home full of inspiration again 💛

🌈 Something Very Exciting Is Coming…

Behind the scenes I’ve also been working on something very exciting that I still can’t quite tell you about… but August is finally the month when I’ll be able to share it! 👀

I’ll leave you with one little clue…

A beautiful basket full of Scheepjes Catona cotton in the most gorgeous rainbow shades 🌈🧶

I’ve been having so much fun planning this project and I honestly can’t wait to reveal what all those colourful balls of yarn are going to become.

Not long to wait now!

✨ Looking Ahead

July has been full of crochet, family time, sunshine and exciting new beginnings.

I’m looking forward to finally sharing my latest secret project, getting some new designs on my hook and seeing what August brings.

As always, thank you so much for your continued support, your lovely messages and for following along on my crochet journey. It really does mean the world 💛

Helen 💛
